“CHIRO-TECHNOLOGY”- Is a term coined by its founder, Dr Walter P. Kittle, in the early 1980’s. Dr Kittle coined this term to describe a new and somewhat controversial approach to Chiropractic care, which he developed in the late 1970’s.
Instead of using Chiropractic adjustment alone (a normal practice at that time), Dr Kittle theorized that a combination of therapies that address ALL of the components of the spine (joint, muscle and nerve) would yield quicker and longer lasting results.
With that in mind, Chiro-technology became one of the first Clinics in the nation to offer chiropractic, massage therapy, exercise rehabilitation and nutrition in a single setting..Some readers may remember our first clinic located in the Nautilus Olympic Center in Lansing, Michigan.
Here, besides his regular patients, Dr Kittle had the opportunity to work closely with many national and world-class athletes. Not only treating their injuries but also greatly optimizing their sports performance.
In addition to the services offered at Chiro-Technology, Dr. Kittle established working relationships with many of the areas top physicians and health care providers. This allowed his patients access to other successful disciplines including acupuncture, physical therapy, pain management and surgery when necessary. Now, 30 years later, this once controversial approach is utilized within the chiropractic and the medical community.
In 1985, Chiro-Technology relocated its office to Holt Michigan. The original Holt office was located on Aurelius road in the Business Center Building however we quickly outgrew that facility and bought the present office on Holt road. Today, Chiro-Technolgy consists of a thirteen member staff including three Doctors of Chiropractic and four massage therapist.
