Post-Graduate Studies
- Disability Examination Parts 1 & 2 -- Certification in disability examination by the American
Disability Evaluation Research Institute under the direction of T. G. Hiebert, PhD, MD.
- Low Back Pain Mechanism, Diagnosis, and Treatment -- Approximately 100 hours of post
graduate study in diagnosis and treatment of lower back pain. Studies include interpretation of special tests not usually incorporated into chiropractic training, including CT Scans, MRI Scans, and Epidural Venograms.
- Advanced Lower Back Research Presented by the International Academy on Chiropractic
Low Back Pain Study. This society is primarily a research group which presents some of the most modern research in lower back pain. Members include the very prestigious Dr. H.F. Farfan, BSC, MD, CM, FRCS.
- Sports BioMechanic Studies -- Many post graduate studies in sports biomechanics have been
undertaken including Spots BioMechanic Symposium Dr. Ken Christiansen, Clinical Chiropractic BioMechanics by Foot Levelers, Inc., and Orthotic Casting and Prescription by Chiropractic Orthotic Specialists, Inc.
- Sports Physician -- A post-graduate course in sports medicine through National College of
Chiropractic. This 100 hour course offers in-depth study of sports injuries including diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation. Those who successfully pass the written and practical examination from this course are eligible to sit for a National Board Examination certifying them as Chiropractic Sports Physicians.
- Personal Fitness Trainer Certification -- National Academy of Sports Medicine, Chicago, Illinois.
- Rehabilitation for Traumatic Injury -- 100 hours of post-graduate education through Palmer
College of Chiropractic. Completion of this course qualifies the physician to be board certified in clinical rehabilitation.
Certifications and Professional Associations:
- Diplomat of the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners
- Diplomat of the State Board of Examiners for Michigan
- Diplomat of the State Board of Examination by the American Disability Examination Research
- Certification in lower back examination and treatment utilizing Cox protocol. Dr. James Cox,
originator of the Cox Flexion Distraction technique, was Dr. Kittle's personal trainer. Dr. Kittle was honored for receiving the highest examination score of any physician at the 1988 certification examination. He is one of eight physicians in the State of Michigan to hold this certification.
- Board Certification in sports injury treatment by the Council on Sports Injuries and Physical
Fitness. Dr. Kittle received a score of 98% on this national examination and now bears the title of Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician.
- Certified Personal Fitness Trainer by the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
- Board eligible for certification as a Chiropractic Rehabilitation Specialist.
- Member in good standing of the Michigan Chiropractic Society.
- Past member of the Michigan Chiropractic Council, the International Chiropractic Association,
the international Academy of Chiropractic Low Back and Pain Study and the National Association of Disability Examining Physicians.
Publications Dr. Kittle was published in a major medical textbook titled, "Low Back Pain," published by Williams and Wilkins. Other contributors to this publication include James Cox, DC, DACBR, Rudy Kachmann, JD (Neurosurgery), and Choe-SongRo, MD, PhD (Anatomy).
